Old Man Ben

The Western Front Band

Mudslide Charley

Hometown Legends!

The Western Front Band is a country band with Americana/bluegrass/rock influences consisting of former founding members of Montana favorites the Bop-A-Dips and Shodown. Having individually shared the stage with over 50 regional and national acts, this five-piece Missoula based band brings a professional and dynamic presentation of traditional and contemporary country music with production aimed to entertain audiences of all ages. The most recent member of the group is Jim Hollingsworth, a former touring member of The Marshall Tucker band, and multi-instrumentalist. The band utilizes, guitar, bass, drums, dobro, and pedal steel to provide diversity and offer a unique twist on many standards.

Mudslide Charley is a Missoula, Montana-born band that plays gutbucket blues and house rockin' roots rock. They draw inspiration from a more antiquated era when Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker first fused the rough and rural vibes of Southern acoustic blues with modern electric instruments. The band writes and performs original songs pumping with vital relevance and emotional fervor that exude a true reverence for the blues musicians who have paved our way. Using gritty electric guitar, elastic bass, chest thumping backbeat, and rich soulful vocals punctuated by harmonica, piano, and saxophone, Mudslide Charley creates a musical gumbo that rattles bones and loosens limbs.

Philipsburg's own Old Man Ben and the band's original songs tell the stories of the parts of Montana that never make the news. Falling down mineshafts, dodging government surveillance and grizzly bears, tumbling across the windswept Missouri river breaks or busting out of Warm Springs State Mental Hospital; there is something there for every Montanan. Throw in some wildly re-imagined covers of the likes of Corb, Garth, Daft Punk and more and you have a live show that will make you twist your ear-horns and politely ask for more.

Charity Auction

Each year the Philipsburg Rotary holds a charity auction during the concert, with items that are very kindly donated by local businesses and residents. This year, short charity auctions are between the bands.  There is also a pair of silent auctions during the show.  The proceeds will be donated to a local community development project.
